If in late June you heard what sounded something like praise choruses suddenly burst forth, it was probably coming from the newsrooms and law offices that have to use CaseLink, Davidson County’s public database of civil court cases. Why the jubilation? We’re getting a new one! If you’ll allow us to vent: The old version doesn’t work on modern browsers; it barely works on a Mac; you can’t go backwards after a search; and trying to use it on a phone or a tablet … hahaha don’t do that. But coming sometime soon, that all changes. Which means journalists, lawyers and citizen court watchers — three groups that can be a bit touchy anyway — will have one less objection for the courts.
