Best Facebook Group

When The Belcourt closed for renovation, Nashville’s film community went into mourning. A longtime champion for the city’s nonprofit film mecca, the Scene’s Jim Ridley spearheaded a Facebook group to help take the edge off with the same kinds of film recommendations and conversations that were frequent in the theater’s lobby. But when Ridley died a few months later, the void in Nashville’s film community was almost too vast to bear.
