Raye

In support of her upcoming album THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE, British singer-songwriter Raye brings her This Tour May Contain New Music to the Ryman on April 29. After her 2023 breakthrough album My 21st Century Blues, Raye was recognized on a global scale as a bright talent in music. With songs such as “Escapism,” “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!” and “Prada,” it’s easy to see why Raye has been co-signed by the likes of Taylor Swift, SZA, Al Green, Blackpink’s Lisa and Bruno Mars. Raye’s artistry can be seen in her latest releases as she blends genres such as pop, R&B and soul with lyrics that are both vulnerable and pertinent. However, her true talent is encapsulated by her live performances. She doesn’t rely on stage effects, but instead almost takes on the role of an old-school crooner. This can be seen in her live performance of “Escapism” at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall, accompanied by a full orchestra and gospel choir. Fellow British singer-songwriters (and Raye’s sisters) Absolutely and Amma open.

8 p.m. at the Ryman
