There comes a point in nearly everyone’s life when you must enter your “Laurel Canyon Phase.” This may include one or all of the following: becoming completely enamored with Linda Ronstadt, Judee Sill and Carole King; making a pilgrimage to Joni Mitchell’s house on Lookout Mountain while listening to “Ladies of the Canyon” on repeat; and watching the three-hour documentary on the Eagles so many times you could write a dissertation on the band. For those of us not fortunate enough to attend one of Mama Cass’ legendary parties and witness the birth of Crosby, Stills & Nash, the next-best thing is headed to Harken Hall. Live From Laurel Canyon: Songs and Stories of American Folk Rock will celebrate one of the most significant and influential eras in American music. The evening also promises an immersive experience; as artists perform the music of The Mamas & the Papas, Joni Mitchell, The Doors and more, vintage photos and video projections will fill the stage, transporting the audience to ’60s and ’70s Los Angeles.
7 p.m. at Harken Hall
