It’s that time again — time to don your finest two-tone blue and believe. It’s been a rough few years for Titans fans. Hell, it’s been a rough few decades for Titans fans. You’d think this would lead to a deeply ingrained level of cynicism, and that’s usually where I lie, but I’m feeling dangerously optimistic heading into the 2026 season. Cam Ward has the tools to be The Guy. The offensive line should, theoretically, be better. Carnell Tate is hot off the Ohio State star wide receiver assembly line. The defense, behind new head coach Robert Saleh and star lineman Jeffery Simmons, looks pretty ferocious on paper. A season opener — the last one ever in the “old” Nissan Stadium — against fellow putrid franchise the New York Jets could be a great jumping-off point. Or it could be the start of another disastrous campaign as the new stadium looms in the background. Either way, I’ll be watching. Legendary Titans running back Chris Johnson — who revealed he had been diagnosed with ALS during an interview with Good Morning America this summer — will be inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor at halftime.
