James Holiday is poised to be the first successful stand-up comedian out of Green Hills. On Instagram he posts daily reels for his loyal fans, lamenting a host of Champagne problems while descending the mall escalator or walking around his gated community in a Dolce & Gabbana bathrobe. Holiday usually milks the affluent suburb for all it’s worth, referring to it at a recent City Cast Nashville roast as a “food desert.” His material also pokes fun at his husband, detailing the eighth renovation they’ve done of the same bathroom, and draws on sex, drugs and — most shocking of all — his past career as a music teacher. On Oct. 28, the self-appointed “Goddess of Green Hills” is trotting out a wildly different kind of show for the main room at Zanies. Nashville Whorer Story will feature other stand-up comedians, drag and even a sideshow sword swallower. It’s going to be fabulous.
