Singer-songwriter-guitarist Mike Delevante, who will perform Saturday night at Brown’s Diner, is best known as one-half of the award-winning Americana duo The Delevantes. But in 2025, he stepped outside the group to record and release his debut solo album, the acclaimed September Days. “September Days was a lot about my experiences growing up,” he tells the Scene. “I just started to tell stories about people I grew up with.” Sonically, the album harkens back to the emergence of folk rock in the mid-’60s, mining the hooky, jangly sounds of 1965 on the 13 tracks produced by Joe Pisapia. Guitarist Pisapia will accompany Delevante on Saturday evening, along with guitarist John Jackson, bassist Garry Tallent of E Street Band fame and drummer Jamie Dick. During the first part of the show, Delevante will perform September Days in its entirety as well as a few covers by artists such as John Lennon, George Harrison and Bob Dylan. During the second part of the evening, Delevante and the band will be joined by his brother Bob Delevante. “I’ll do a set, and then Bob will come up with me, and we’ll do a bunch of Delevantes songs,” he says. David Newbould will open the show with an acoustic set.
