I first encountered East Nashville Facebook Page: The Musical back in 2023 as part of the Kindling Arts Festival. Presented by Emma Supica and local improv musical troupe Cherry Bomb, it was initially billed as a musical comedy send-up of “the city’s most simultaneously beloved and despised news source.” And while that remains an accurate description, this hilarious show goes well beyond your standard comedy bit — with crazy characters and wacky setups, all set to the marvelous musical stylings of Alex Dolezal. Now in its fourth year, East Nashville Facebook Page is back at Eastside Bowl this weekend with a slew of talented performers, including Supica, Christina Ashworth, Erika Bailey, Ryan Citrino, Gabe Cyrus, Margaret French, Seth Nathan Green, Kim Herrmann, Mick Khoury and Cammie York. You don’t have to live in East Nashville to appreciate the humor, and no matter how many times you’ve seen it before, the show is always a little different since it’s inspired by real posts from the actual Facebook page over the past 12 months. Rowdy, riotous fun, this is one Facebook oddity you won’t mind revisiting.
