I won’t bury the lede here: This upcoming show from local comedian and character performer extraordinaire Andi Marie Tillman is sold out. In fact, it sold out a month ago, not long after it was announced — a testament to how beloved the East Tennessee native has become here in her adopted hometown. With a combined 1.6 million followers on TikTok and Instagram, Tillman has developed an audience that stretches well outside the Volunteer State, though she makes a great ambassador. “At 4 years old, I put on an entire one-woman Passion Play for my family,” she told the Scene in 2025. “I was Mary, the Roman soldier, Jesus, Pontius Pilate, the angel that announced the resurrection — I was all the characters.” These days, her characters skew less biblical but are nevertheless memorable, from ornery Appalachian Papaw to vampire-slash-country-musician Nashveratu.
