Speaking of Nashville Public Library, how about a hand for the ambitious Studio NPL project, which shows budding teen rappers, indie rockers and producers how to use Logic Pro to create beats and music tracks at branch-library studios from Bellevue to Antioch. Not only does the program give teens access to equipment and mentors — for free — it also provides support to high-school poets, spoken-word artists, MCs and writers through the affiliated Cypher and Spoken Word Poetry Workshops in conjunction with Southern Word. The next Mike Floss, Alicia Bognanno, Jamin Orrall or Jessi Darlin just might be here somewhere.
