Manny’s House of Pizza and The Peanut Shop provide a sense of permanence in an ever-changing city. Both family-run places offer delicious child-friendly food — pizza, lasagna, nuts and candy — made with care and without shortcuts in Nashville’s original food court. They are two mainstays of the Arcade, a covered shopping center built in downtown Nashville in 1902. The Peanut Shop started as a Planters peanut store in 1927, and the interior has changed very little. Manny’s House of Pizza opened in 1984, and it continues to serve the best New York-style pizza in the city.
