Whatever your little one’s idea of adventure, there’s a Metro park to meet it. Climbing? Scale the mosaic scales of the friendly dragon in Fannie Mae Dees Park near Vandy. Water? Splash in the fountains at Cumberland Park on the riverfront (and try the rock-climbing wall while you’re there). Hiking? Explore the creekbeds at Beaman Park or the wildflower-lined trails at East Nashville’s Shelby Bottoms. Fishing? Drop a line in the Little Harpeth in Edwin Warner Park or Cedar Hill Lake in Madison’s Cedar Hill Park. And now that the heat’s lifting, what better time to explore the newly excavated creek feeding a scum-free Lake Watauga in face-lifted Centennial Park?
