Best Place to Ride Bikes

Until Nashville gets retrofitted with buffered bike lanes all the way from Old Hickory to, uh, Old Hickory, we’ll keep two-wheeling it down in Shelby Bottoms. There isn’t a more relaxing bike ride in the city, partly because much of the trail doesn’t feel like a city at all, thanks to abundant greenery. At one end, you can commune with the frogs at the edge of a pond, and at the other, you can pedal where cars can’t go: over the river to East East Nashville (aka Donelson) and beyond.
