Salute Your Shorts, the long-running festival showcasing shorts from local filmmakers, is back following a five-year hiatus. The 2026 edition will take place at Jackalope Brewing Co. on March 30, and tickets include one free draft or nonalcoholic beer. The festival lineup includes a wide range of short films, including live-action narrative, documentary, experimental, animation and even music videos. As long as the filmmaker is from Tennessee, it qualifies. The night will be hosted by local cinematographer and director Caleb Dirks, and will feature a slate of Q&As interspersed throughout the screenings. So grab a beer and support some Nashville filmmakers — and who knows, maybe you’ll see a future Oscar nominee.
