Hannah-Cohen-Press-WEB-1-1

Some of us like to hover slightly above our everyday lives, where the world is in harmony with our own thoughts. The romantics called it dreaming. The kids are calling it “delusional.” Whichever way you want to spin it, Hannah Cohen makes the ideal soundtrack for reaching this out-of-body, out-of-touch plane. Earthstar Mountain is the latest mood-enhancing album from the Catskills singer-songwriter. Produced by her romantic partner and frequent collaborator Sam Evian, it features Clairo on the clarinet (a classy touch) as well as Sufjan Stevens. Cohen’s vocals greet listeners with ghosts of music’s past — Minnie Riperton, Stevie Nicks, Vashti Bunyan — while lacing in hints of country, pop and soul. Her songwriting is sensual and seasoned, an open invitation for floating away from reality. New York duo mmeadows will open.

7 p.m. at The Blue Room at Third Man Records
