Woodcuts on Jefferson Street is far more than a place to purchase paintings and black-themed greeting cards, though both of those are certainly an important part of its business. Woodcuts is a community institution — a combination cultural outpost, art gallery and frame shop. And that’s not to mention its work hosting events, like the Jefferson Street Art Crawl, which has brought outstanding authors and artists from across the nation to Nashville’s historically black neighborhood.
