Lorenzo Washington’s seen all the greats. He’s also well aware that if people don’t take the time and energy to preserve memorabilia and artifacts, eventually a culture’s greatness can be distorted or even forgotten. He initially founded Jefferson Street Sound as a recording studio, but it serves as a multipurpose site that celebrates the legacy of Nashville’s black music communities: blues, soul, jazz, gospel and R&B. A tour through Jefferson Street Sound is a historical and cultural experience that is eye-opening and unforgettable. RON WYNN
