Since 2018, when Cameron and Nicole Payne opened Red Perch in the Arcade, the restaurant has been synonymous with fish and chips in Nashville. When they moved to Sylvan Supply in West Nashville in 2021, it was a chance for more people to eat their dishes on the regular (not to mention a new liquor license so you could order a drink with your grilled shrimp).
The widely loved fish and chips are now available on the West Side
Unfortunately, the days of Red Perch have come to an end. The restaurant announced that Feb. 6 will be its last day of business at 4101 Charlotte Ave.
While the team was not immediately available for comment, they posted on social media:
It’s with full hearts and bittersweet emotions that we announce the closing of our beloved family restaurant after 7 incredible years in Nashville.Â
From the very first day, we’ve been so fortunate to meet amazing customers, make lasting friendships, and create memories that will stay with us forever. We’ve watched our two daughters grow up in the restaurant, and they’ll always have a special place in our hearts—and yours.Â
Thank you to every single person who walked through our doors, supported us, and made this journey unforgettable. We are forever grateful for the love and laughter we shared. As we close this chapter, we’re excited for what’s next but will always carry the memories of our time here with us.
This may be the end of our restaurant, but it’s not the end of the relationships and stories we’ve created together. Thank you for being a part of our family.Â
Our last day of service will be Thursday, February 6th.
With love and gratitude, The Red Perch Family
Scene contributor Ashley Brantley has repeatedly sung Red Perch’s praises, giving different dishes Best of Nashville nods. So if you’re headed over to thank the Paynes for their delicious years in the kitchen and to get one last meal, Brantley loves the lumpia and the salmon poke as well as the fish and chips.
