With a filmography as loaded with iconic works as Hayao Miyazaki’s, when people are asked which is their favorite, answers run the gamut from Spirited Away to The Castle of Cagliostro. Mine is My Neighbor Totoro, and I’m delighted to get a chance to view it on the big screen during GKIDS’ annual Studio Ghibli Fest. I don’t know if I’m more excited to see the magical Catbus, the first appearance of the soot-gremlin Susuwatari or Totoro himself. More Miyazaki joints will be coming later this year — Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and Ponyo are all scheduled, several of which will make future appearances in this section. Visit gkids.com/ghiblifest for showtimes. The film is playing at most area Regal and AMC theaters.
