RunnTenn is a newly established nonprofit with a noble goal: helping Tennesseans participate in running and walking events that are accessible to everyone, and doing it for free. For the group’s inaugural 5K run, RunnTenn is partnering with Achilles International’s Nashville chapter. Achilles is a support organization that helps folks with disabilities — including people who are blind or otherwise visually impaired — take part in runs, walks and other endurance events. The run will take place this Saturday at Cornelia Fort Airpark (a true gem of the Metro Parks system, as we’ve noted in these pages before). The event is free and will support participants of all abilities. Saturday will be hot one, so whether you’re participating or spectating, stay hydrated — and sunscreen up.
