Critic's Pick — Street Theatre: 'Silence! The Musical'

Street Theatre is back with a twisted treat that’s sure to get you into the Halloween spirit — Silence! The Musical. Based on the Academy Award-winning film The Silence of the Lambs starring Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins, Silence! features music and lyrics by brothers Jon and Al Kaplan, with book by Hunter Bell. Described as a “raucous parody” of the film, the action follows FBI trainee Clarice Starling, who enlists the help of the notorious “Hannibal the Cannibal” Lecter, as she struggles to track down a serial killer. Nashville favorite Jennifer Whitcomb-Oliva directs this dark comedy-thriller (with musical direction by Randy Craft), and the cast features a great mix of talent, including Jennifer Richmond as Agent Starling and Harrison Hall as Dr. Hannibal Lecter, along with Andrew Newton, Kimberly Wolff, Alan Smith, Aaron Catron, Chan Murrell and Elijah Wallace. Audiences can also look forward to choreography by Joi Ware. With singing serial killers, a chorus of dancing lambs and songs like “Put the Fucking Lotion in the Basket,” Silence! is sure to sell out its run. But keep in mind this bawdy bash is recommended for ages 18-plus only.
