Rocknite Nashville is uprooting its once-a-month lineup of East Nashville DIY rock artists and planting in the middle of Broadway for an alternative takeover at Jon Bon Jovi’s during CMA Fest. If you’ve ever been to a Rocknite show, you’ve probably witnessed the crowd-surfing rockers, long-haired guitar players climbing up to the rafters and slamming bodies of high-intensity mosh pits. It’s sweaty, loud and the epitome of rock ’n’ noll. Rocknite is a celebration of the diverse, and a creative scene of independent artists who show up for one another. There’s a strong sense of community among stellar artists like Willa Mae, Pressure Heaven, Flight Attendant, Edgehill, Connor Kelly & The Time Warp and others at the core of the East Side’s thriving DIY scene. Music starts early on Friday, with a lengthy lineup of some of my favorite East Nash rockers (including all of the aforementioned) opening for headliners Dexter and the Moonrocks and Cage the Elephant.
11:30 a.m. at JBJ’s Nashville
405 Broadway
