Nashville Opera’s new season opens Oct. 8 with Puccini’s timeless masterpiece Tosca. But there’s plenty of fun to be had this weekend, as Jukebox Live returns to the Noah Liff Opera Center. It’s a fun, freewheeling program where the guests determine the playlist by bidding to have songs performed live at their table or as a special dedication — from beloved opera arias and familiar Broadway show tunes to pop, jazz and even country. Audiences can look forward to big performances from soprano Flora Hawk and tenor Ben Gulley, along with local artists like Miles Aubrey, Steven McCoy, Megan Murphy Chambers and Sarah Antell, plus accompaniment from Stephen Kummer and Stephen Carey. It’s a cool, intimate party vibe, with dinner and drinks included. Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite musical genre (think Disco Queens and Opera Divas!). And best of all, proceeds go to support Nashville Opera’s mission, performances and educational programs.
