Did you know Nashville is considered a hotbed for women’s bodybuilding? For those curious about the sport — which, historically, has often been viewed through a male lens culturally — head over to Municipal Auditorium on Saturday for the Nashville Fit Show. Hundreds of women, from teenagers to near-octogenarians, will be vying for the title in all eight National Physique Committee Women’s Divisions. Now in its ninth year, the Nashville Fit Show is the world’s first all-female NPC-sanctioned bodybuilding competition. The event was founded by local bodybuilding athlete and coach Whitney Wiser Savage, who is an International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation Pro Olympian and has competed at the prestigious Olympia competition in Las Vegas. Nashville Fit Show is an NPC National Qualifier, meaning a strong performance could catapult a competitor to the national stage.
8:30 p.m. at Municipal Auditorium
