Modern times call for a little escape every once in a while, and going to another planet certainly sounds appealing. One option is the upcoming Interplanetary Talent Show from local dance and performance troupe Nocturne Dance, which will feature 10 dance, music and circus-style acts. (Sword swallowers and aerial artists will be featured.) It’s a way for Nocturne Dance to show off their skills — and commitment to a theme — weaving the acts together into a storyline complete with astounding costuming and production value. Arrive early to check out the art vendors, flash tattoo offerings and a photo booth, or to receive a tarot reading before the event. With the support of DancEast and Metro Arts, the atmospheric event offers a chance to embrace the local dance scene while enjoying some time in a galaxy far, far away.
