British post-punk legends Echo & the Bunnymen bring their 2026 North American tour to Nashville Friday night with a stop at Brooklyn Bowl. It will be the group’s first appearance in the city since July 2018, when they played the Ryman. Billed as The Very Best of Echo & the Bunnymen: More Songs to Learn and Sing after their 2006 compilation of the same name, the tour celebrates the band’s long and storied career and features performances of their best-known material. The group was formed in Liverpool, England, in 1978 by vocalist Ian McCulloch, guitarist Will Sergeant and bassist Les Pattinson. After they rose to prominence in the U.K. in the early to mid-’80s, McCulloch left the band to pursue a solo career in 1988, and the remaining members ultimately disbanded in 1993. McCullough, Sergeant and Pattinson re-formed the group in 1997, but Pattinson departed the following year. Since then, McCulloch and Sergeant have continued to perform and record under the group’s banner, most recently releasing The Stars, the Oceans & the Moon in 2018. On the current tour, they are backed by bassist Stephen Brannan, drummer Simon Finley, guitarist Pete Reilly and keyboardist Mike Smith.
