'Making Noise: How a Sunday Night Party Changed Nashville'

If Nashville wants a truly thriving ecosystem for Black art, there’s still major work to be done. But since 2003, Lovenoise — which started as a showcase series and evolved into one of the city’s top indie concert promoters — has been a catalyst for progress that has changed the calculus for a rising generation of Black musicians in Music City. Jointly produced by Nashville Public Radio’s WPLN and WNXP and hosted by senior music writer Jewly Hight, Making Noise brings in heaps of voices to tell Lovenoise’s story and shine a light on the ongoing impact of systemic racism all across the city.
