The @nashseverewx guys

Many of us who have long enjoyed Twitter have been having a harder time with it since a certain bizarre tech billionaire purchased the app and started tinkering with things that didn’t need to be tinkered with. (And I’m sorry, but we will not be earnestly referring to it as “X.”) After putting our heads together, we at the Scene decided to discontinue the “Best Twitter Account” category once and for all, but not before bestowing the honor one last time. The folks behind Nashville Severe Weather — David, Will, Andrew, Luke and their interns — are still going strong at @NashSeverWx after more than a decade, keeping Nashville informed about severe weather events. From the deadly March 2020 tornado to flash floods, heat waves and lightning storms, the Nashville Severe Weather folks — who are careful to refer to themselves as “tweeteorologists” rather than professional meteorologists — are seemingly perpetually logged on, ready to keep folks in the Nashville area safe and informed. Of course, you can also find Nashville Severe updates via YouTube as well as other social media platforms and at their website. Should twitter.com fully bite the dust or just get too weird and annoying to use, we’ll keep on following Nashville Severe Weather wherever we can find them. Hats off to the Nashville Severe team, and thank you for all that you do.
