Best Bike Program

“Empower. Rebuild. Ride On.” As mottos go, it’s a solid one, and the work ethic matches the rhetoric. Since 2009 the Oasis Bike Workshop has graduated more than 600 kids from their program — teaching them how to build a bike, starting with nothing but a frame and a bench full of parts, and then letting them ride away on that same bike with the know-how to maintain it. (They also get to stop relying on adults for rides.) Knowledge really is freedom.
