Boo Dudes Go Wayne's World With YouTube Series The Witching Hour!

Boodudes are back, baby! Ghastly Mike Hackenslash finally reunites with Jesse Boo. He has quite a few startups he wants to pitch like Bats Scooters and Air Bat n' Belfry. Jesse is still all about the music, but at least Ghastly Mike is focusing on his finances. Jesse's just a little unsure how charging more for a rentable scooter without a motor is going to earn anything... also, he's not entirely sure how a cash-only app is going to work.

After Hackenslash storms off, Tad Dracula swings by to get the rent money, but stops in for a chat!

This week's featured song:

"Haunted Houseboat" by the Boodudes from the album _Haint Anger_

It's all about Vlad Dracula (Tad's older brother) finally getting back on his feet after his 2 DUIs. The marina is near his kids' school, so it's convenient to be able to see them even though his custody rights have been taken away.

He did later sell the Haunted Houseboat to put the downpayment on the castle in which The Witching Hour! is currently being filmed.

Good for you, Vlad!

Since the autumnal equinox happened on Monday, you can expect that crisp fall weather any day now! OK, so maybe don't hold your breath for that. One thing is for certain: It's time for Boo Dudes, Nashville's spooOOOkiest band, to awaken from their infernal slumber and stalk the land. Typically, that has meant some fiendishly good new genre-hopping music and the creepiest of concerts. This year, it seems the Dudes have made the jump to new media.

They've launched a YouTube (er, BooTube?) series titled The Witching Hour!, filmed Wayne's World-style in the basement studio they've set up in Vlad Dracula's castle. You'll recall that Vlad has had a rough few years, what with the multiple DUIs and eventually moving onto a houseboat. But Vlad has gotten his finances together and saved up a down-payment on this more suitable abode; like most of us these days, he's got roommates.

The Dudes themselves seem to be having a tough time, though. You may recall that Jesse Boo's and Ghastly Mike Hackenslash's legal troubles resulted in their stoner-punk nemeses Graveyard Guys gaining control of their catalog last year, and canceling the release of their prog opus Spookydelica 2045: Echoes of the Resistance. Then, producer "Bloody Buddy" Pearlman enforced his contractual rights, ordering the Dudes to ... start the fourth wave of ska.

That whole chain of events was a bit demoralizing, to say the least, and might have marked the end of a lesser band. From the first couple episodes of The Witching Hour! (see Episode 2 above), it seems Boo is determined to continue with the project the pair have invested so much of their afterlives in. Hackenslash, however, seems more interested in concocting app-based schemes to siphon cash from millennials. The only way to learn how this will all play out? Keep watching.
