Each year, TPAC rolls out the red carpet for young theater lovers with its annual Family Day. And while January’s historic ice storm tried to put a damper on the festivities, this year’s event — which finally arrives on Saturday — promises to be especially magical with a Wizard of Oz-themed celebration that highlights creativity and imagination. Kids can look forward to a wide range of sensory-friendly games and arts activities — all inspired by Dorothy and her friends, of course. Guests will also enjoy live performances from Nashville Ballet, Nashville Rep, Nashville Opera, Adventure Science Center, Nashville Theatre School and more. There will be plenty of treats available from Suga Bae Fluff Cotton Candy, face painting and balloon art from Mission Balloon, and even an appearance by Winston the therapy dog. It’s sure to be an entertaining afternoon for the whole family. And best of all, proceeds from Family Day will support TPAC’s nonprofit mission and outreach efforts.
1:30 p.m. at TPAC’s Jackson Hall
505 Deaderick St.
