The Blue June Music Fest lineup looks like producer John Vincent III’s dream blunt rotation. To welcome the summer solstice, the singer put together a wildflower mix of musicians highlighting folk, Americana, country and roots. Headlining the festival is Phosphorescent, the alias of singer and songwriter Matthew Houck, whose fragile, psych-tinged rock is a gift to experience live. He’s been using his unbelievably emotive voice since the early Aughts, around the time the rest of the festival performers were born. Mixing the ranks of YouTube and TikTok together, this graduating class of indie folk includes internet pop princess mxmtoon and Kate Stephenson, who uses her classical upbringing to turn breakups into beauty. There’s also Gen-Z heartthrob Ethan Regan from North Carolina, and Nashville darling Emma Andersen — both of whom have new albums coming out later in this bountiful month we call June.
