Double Infinity, the 2025 record by indie-folk rockers Big Thief, is nothing short of magical. Twinkling instrumentals and an array of enchanting percussion are combined with master songwriter and frontwoman Adrianne Lenker’s gentle vocals to create a warm, welcoming album centered on aging and love. One line in particular from opening track “Incomprehensible” encapsulates the entire record: “How can beauty that is living be anything but true?” Lenker evokes this message across the album’s nine tracks, establishing a sense of inner peace and acceptance among periods of grief and loss. Nearly a year after the record was released in September 2025, Big Thief is coming to the Mother Church for a two-day stint. If you’re anything like me, bring your tissues for a lively yet heart-wrenching performance by one of indie music’s most phenomenal acts of the past decade.
