Physical media means something special to most folks over the age of 18 these days: a tangible connection to pivotal interactions with films or music, a special kind of bond that just doesn’t form when you fall in love with something streaming. Brittany Fernandez and Jesse Butler’s Danger Zone Video in Mt. Juliet specializes in movies on VHS, the analog home-video format that dominated living rooms in the 1980s and practically disappeared when DVDs swiftly took over in the late 1990s. Their dedication to good quality and thoughtful curation — not to mention the collectability of rare titles and increasing nostalgia for VHS — has helped their business grow, and in September they moved to a new location three times the original’s size.
