With an unassuming retail shop in The Nations and a fulfillment center and a jewelry studio in town, ABLE has made Nashville its headquarters for an ethical clothing, leather goods and jewelry company. It publishes the wages of its workers and strives to work with manufacturers who pay living wages for women — who account for more than 80 percent of fashion-industry employees. The idea is to empower women as craftspeople, employees, entrepreneurs and customers. Check out the 360 Club, which functions like a farm CSA, allowing you to pay upfront for discounted clothes for the next three years.
