Historically, it has been the Tigerbelles — the women’s team, which has seen such legends as Wilma Rudolph — who earned most of the limelight. But recently, the men’s team’s R’Lazon Brumfield has been the Tigers’ — and Nashville’s — shining star on the track. The triple-jump specialist has stacked accolades at the conference and regional levels. And his five national championship qualifications, including a runner-up finish at this year’s indoor event, earned him widespread recognition in the sport.
