Harpeth Hall alumna Alex Walsh had Nashville glued to the TV during the Tokyo Olympics. After winning the 200-meter individual medley at the trials (by a mere 0.02 seconds), Walsh went to Japan as Nashville’s best hope for Olympic hardware in swimming since fellow Honey Bear Tracy Caulkins wooed the world with her three golds in Los Angeles in 1984. Walsh scored a silver, missing gold by 0.13 seconds, but winning over her hometown anyway.
