“Zeitgeist” means spirit of the times, and Zeitgeist Gallery demonstrated its commitment to relevance with Artists for Tornado Relief. Launched the weekend after the devastating March 3 tornado struck Nashville, it featured more than 60 local artists who donated work to the fundraiser. The art was priced to move at $100 with 100 percent of profits going to the grassroots, community-focused organization Gideon’s Army. When the tornado that struck North Nashville damaged homes and businesses and affected families already struggling under the financial weight of gentrification, Gideon’s Army stepped up to lead recovery efforts.
