Drawn into a role she’d never imagined for herself by lawmakers whose imaginations were drawing up a Tennessee where practicing Islam was illegal, reluctant activist Remziya Suleyman has done more for intercultural dialog than perhaps anyone else in the state. She helped found the American Center for Outreach, and serves as its director of public policy, helping educate the public — and our too-often ignorant legislators — on the perspectives of actual Muslims.
