After serving Nashville for thirty years, Davis-Kidd Booksellers is closing its doors. Cincinnati-based Joseph-Beth Group, which purchased the business from founders Karen Davis and Thelma Kidd in 1997, today announced the closure of the store, located in the Mall at Green Hills, as it filed a Chapter 11 reorganization petition in U.S. Bankruptcy Court at Lexington, Ky."Davis-Kidd has been an institution in Nashville. Neil Van Uum, owner of The Joseph-Beth Group, in a prepared statement.The announcement said inventory liquidation sales will begin in mid-November, continuing until the store closes in December.
