On the eve of the release of his second solo effort, Lazaretto, hometown superstar Jack White appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon for the second time in a month.
When White was on the show back in May, it was to promote Neil Young's recent Third Man Records release, A Letter Home, and thus the former White Stripe let ol' Shakey eat up most of the spotlight. But last night, it was the Jack White Show.
In the clip you can watch above, White — clad in the most psychedelic suit you'll see all day — and Fallon run through the many features of the "Ultra LP." That's the vinyl version of Lazaretto with all the bells and whistles, including locked grooves, hidden tracks and a goddamn hologram. "It also makes pizza and drives you to work in the morning," quips White. After the jump, watch White and his band perform Lazaretto's titular tune, along with a Web-only performance of album cut "Just One Drink."
As previously mentioned, we spoke with Jack White last week. Stay tuned for this week's dead-tree issue of the Scene — out bright and early Thursday morning — in which you can read our interview. Lazaretto is out today and available for purchase via this link. Oh, and the dude will also appear on Conan tomorrow night. OK. I think that's everything.
