Just one week ago, bluesy, soulful, punk-rooted rock 'n' rollers and Brooklyn transplants Clear Plastic Masks unveiled their their debut full-length Being There via Kings of Leon's Serpents and Snakes Records. Contributor

Claire Dodson wrote a pretty cool feature on it for us

, and then

we streamed the whole damn record

.

Well, if you want to see and hear what a couple of songs from the record are like in the flesh, so to speak, let's just go on and make that happen for you. During this year's SXSW festivities, the Masks sauntered into Willie Nelson's famed and fabled "Luck, Texas." The folks behind the roving performance series Jam in the Van were there, and they asked CPM into the van to play a couple of tunes. See "Outcast" above and "When the Night Comes" after the jump.

Not that I personally recommend climbing into a strange van full of puppets, Christmas lights and video equipment, but it looks as though a whole slew of Nashvillians did precisely that at this year's SXSW — watch Jam in the Van sessions from Music City denizens Nikki Lane, The Apache Relay and The Wild Feathers at JITV's site.
