Kim Petras at Nashville Pride 2021, Big Freedia at Nashville Pride 2017
Nashville Pride is headed back to Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park this year, bringing an even bigger and better entertainment lineup with more than 130 performers on deck. It expands out from the traditional Saturday and Sunday schedule to include a kickoff concert Friday night, June 27, headlined by pop star Kim Petras, making her return to the fest following a rain-drenched (but no less exciting) performance in 2021. She’ll be joined by Empress of, Estelle and drag queen supreme Kylie Love.Â
Per tradition, the parade will be followed by a jam-packed performance lineup Saturday and Sunday, among the vendors set up throughout the park. Highlights include ’90s rock legends 4 Non Blondes, hip-hop heroine Big Freedia (performing with inclusive chorus Nashville in Harmony), Music City’s own pop sensation Jake Wesley Rogers (fresh off the release of his debut full-length In the Key of Love, “ABCDEFU” singer GAYLE and dance producers The Knocks teamed up with Dragonette. The Rainbow Stage — which spotlights local talent but includes folks from elsewhere and is curated by the RNBW crew — will be back, as will the Stonewall Stage, hosting a huge array of drag performances including Adhara Bull and Seymour Chilton.
“At a time of growing division, Nashville Pride sends a clear message: LGBTQ+ people belong here,” says Tina Tousignant, president of the Nashville Pride board of directors, in a release. “Pride is a reminder of our roots, our rights, and our refusal to be pushed back into the shadows. Together, we show the world that in Nashville, love will always win.”
Tickets — including standard and VIP admission options, for the Friday night concert as well as the main festival event — go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 2, via the Nashville Pride website.
