Wednesday night — around the time the CMA Awards were wrapping up here in Nashville — Music City’s own Margo Price was making her return to The Daily Show. There she chatted with current host and comedy legend Sarah Silverman about her award-winning book Maybe We’ll Make It and her latest album, Strays.
The bulk of Silverman and Price’s chat centers on the power of psychedelic drugs and Price’s interest in staying vocal on topics including reproductive rights and gun control. Price notes that her left-of-center views often place her at odds with the country music industry (“I definitely don’t get invited to all the parties, but that’s OK — the parties suck”), and talks about returning to Nashville from tour to vote in Metro’s recent mayoral election.
