LOL! Just 12 hours after Taylor Swift premiered a new video during the iHeartRadio Music Awards, Beyoncé flashed her neuralyzer and made everyone forget about the "Delicate" pop star by announcing On the Run II, a stadium tour with husband Jay-Z.
The Beyhive has been all abuzz about the possible joint tour for the past week or so, and now the news is finally confirmed. And yes, y'all, they're coming to Nashville!
The On the Run II Tour will be in Music City on Aug. 23 (the same week that Swift comes to Nissan Stadium) at ... Vanderbilt Stadium? Sure, OK! Tickets go on sale at noon on Monday, March 19, via Ticketmaster, so you have one week to scrape together anywhere from $20 to $320. And worth considering as you plan your ticket purchasing: Nissan Stadium has a capacity of nearly 70,000, but Vandy is just shy of 40,000, so you know those tickets are going to sell the eff out.
It's rare that shows of this magnitude hit Vandy Stadium. Following Pink Floyd and Rolling Stones shows in the ’90s, U2 brought their absurdly complicated 360° Tour to town in 2011, and Luke Bryan stopped there in 2015.
Another fun fact: When Bey and Jay come to Nashville, magic happens. Do you remember the result of Bey's 2016 date? She (maybe) GOT PREGNANT WITH THE TWINS. I mean, the math checks out. Sure, Vice made fun of me for it. Whatever Vice, I'm not here for you, I'm here for the people.
