Chef Bob Waggoner of
Watermark Restaurantin the Gulch has worked in some pretty well-known restaurants around the South. As a result, he has a Rolodex full of famous chef friends who he can call on to help him out with charity events. In fact,
it was at that sort of event that I first had the pleasure to enjoy Chef Waggoner's foodwhen then-chef Louis Osteen invited him to a James Beard dinner.
Now Waggoner is digging into his little black book to invite two exceptional chefs from Charleston to help out with what he's calling a "Resolution Dinner," on Sunday, Jan. 20, to benefit Louie's Kids, a group that fights childhood obesity. Michelle Weaver of the Charleston Grill and Frank Lee of Slightly North of Broad (S.N.O.B.) will join Waggoner and Watermark pastry chef Sam Tucker to create a four-course meal with wine pairings for diners for the totally reasonable price of $100.
There will also be a live auction featuring travel and merchandise items to benefit the charity, and entertainment will be provided by singer-songwriters Bonnie Bishop and Julie Roberts. The evening starts with a champagne reception at 6 p.m., and here's the menu that lucky diners can expect:
