Strategic Hospitality to Open 'New World French' Restaurant, Le Sel, in Adelicia

Restaurateur brothers Benjamin and Max Goldberg's company, Strategic Hospitality, is taking over the vacant restaurant space at the base of the Adelicia condominium in Midtown.

Chef Rene De Leon, most recently sous chef of Chicago's acclaimed Next, will oversee the "new-world French fare" at the restaurant, to be called Le Sel, according to a release today from Strategic Hospitality. De Leon "will bring a fresh perspective to casual French food," the company says.

Over the years, various restaurants have struggled with the sprawling restaurant space at the Adelicia, which has housed Miro District, Fish & Co. and Music City Tippler.

Le Sel will take a dual approach to the space: The main floor of Le Sel will serve lunch and dinner, with brunch on the weekends, while the downstairs space will be "The Bar at Le Sel," with a separate menu and "an expansive wine list and specialty cocktails developed by Strategic Hospitality beverage director Matt Tocco."

In the release, De Leon says, “Le Sel will offer classic French dishes most people recognize and love.” He adds, “There will also be dishes that represent the current style of cuisine that has emerged in France today, consisting of food that is no longer dependent on dairy or sauces made from reducing stocks. Instead the style focuses on making the food delicious while using simplicity in the presentation and preparation.”

Strategic Hospitality is the parent company of Pinewood Social, Paradise Park, The Catbird Seat and Merchants Restaurant, among other venues.

Le Sel is expected to open early this summer at 1922 Adelicia St. It will serve lunch and dinner six days a week.
