Some neighborhood gems are so widely adored that we at your friendly local alternative-weekly newspaper figure it goes without saying. But sometimes it is worth saying, so in this case, we’ll say it: East Nashville’s Five Points Pizza — and by extension, its newer West Side location — is a godsend, there to offer you the sort of delightfully cheesy dinner you want before (or after) a night of drinking. But you know what? It’s there in the daytime too.
Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., both Five Points locations offer three variations on a $9 lunch special: There’s the two-slice special (two pizza slices and a fountain drink), as well as the knot + salad special (a half-order of garlic knots along with a salad and a fountain drink) and the slice + salad special (a slice, a salad and a fountain drink). You can take your pick from any of Five Points’ big, foldable, individual slices (cheese, pepperoni, prosciutto-and-basil, a meat slice of the day or a veggie slice of the day) as well as the various salads (house, Greek, spinach-and-gorgonzola and arugula). Mix and match until you find your favorite combo! There are dozens of possibilities.
