If you're sad about Sprinkles closing their 12South shop (and taking their cupcake ATM with them — sigh), don't fret! Today Christie Cookies announced they're going to help keep the neighborhood sugary sweet by opening a retail location in the 2606 12th Ave. S. storefront. It will be their second shop, in addition to their Germantown location at 1205 Third Ave. N.
Does this mean Christie Cookies will have a cookie ATM? Sadly, no. (And why not?!) But the new Christie Cookie shop "will feature its signature freshly baked cookies made with premium ingredients in addition to other dessert treats," the company said via press release. Oooh, what could "other dessert treats" mean? We'll have to wait to find out. (Please say ice cream cookie sandwiches, please say ice cream cookie sandwiches, please say ice cream cookie sandwiches ...)
No word on opening day yet, but in the meantime, the Germantown location is still selling fresh-baked treats Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
