Tailor x Coach House

It’s a good thing that Easter was early this year, because if you were still in the throes of Lenten denial, you might miss out on some amazing eating and drinking opportunities in Nashville over the next couple of weeks.

Kick off the fortnight with a special evening of culinary collaboration at Tailor on Thursday, April 18, as chef Zubair Mohajir joins forces with Vivek Surti for an evening they are calling Coach House x Tailor. Chicago-based chef Mohajir is known for his tasting menu presentations featuring Southeast Asian influences, which should make for a fascinating combination with Surti’s own offerings. Tailor is offering two seatings at 6 and 8:30 p.m., so make your reservations at the link above.

Sean Brock at Bar Continental

On Friday, April 19, Sean Brock is teaming up with the Frist Art Museum for an interesting experience exploring the food of the South. Inspired by the new Southern/Modern exhibit at the Frist, the evening will begin with an optional tour of the exhibit at the museum at 4 p.m. before the party crosses the street to Bar Continental at 5 p.m. for a cocktail and small bites. Then Chef Brock will put on a talk and cooking demo focusing on the role of food as part of the Southern identity and sense of place.

Attendees will taste some of Brock’s favorite ingredients along the way and enjoy free parking and admission to the Frist as part of their ticket, which costs $150 for Frist members and $25 more for those who aren’t members. (Yet.) Grab your spot at the Frist’s website.

Saturday, April 27, is the date for the annual Corkdorks Nashville Wine & Food Festival in the Legends Ballroom at the Omni Hotel in SoBro. Finally, Les Dames d’Escoffier Nashville are bowing to popular demand and bringing back their Champagne & Chicken event from 2023. The springtime edition of the fundraiser is a picnic featuring fried chicken from Prince’s, seasonal sides from some of the best woman-led restaurants in town, biscuits from Biscuit Love, desserts and bubbles.

Purchase a ticket for two patrons to receive one bottle of Champagne, four pieces of chicken and all the accompaniments. The event will take place at Bloomsbury Farm in Smyrna from 1 until 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, and ticketholders are invited to stick around on the grounds of the farm to enjoy their picnic along with live music and other activities.

Alternatively, this year Les Dames are providing two pickup locations for take-home service in East Nashville at Lockeland Table and in West Nashville at The Corner Market Catering Co. Jackalope will also have beer add-ons available for purchase on site. Be sure to reserve your basket in advance so they know exactly how much chicken to fry up.
